This Privacy Policy describes how DreamQuest ("we", "us", "our", "the Service") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the DreamQuest Discord bot and related services.
By using DreamQuest, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, do not use the Service.

2. What Data We Collect
2.1 Account Data
When you interact with DreamQuest, we collect and store:
- Your Discord User ID (unique numeric identifier provided by Discord)
- Your Discord username
- Your subscription plan and credit balance
- Feature preferences (e.g., NSFW enabled, voice enabled)
2.2 Companion Data
When you create AI companions, we store:
- Companion names, personality descriptions, appearance descriptions, and backstories that you provide
- Voice and visual settings you configure
- Content preferences (SFW/NSFW mode)
2.3 Conversation Data
To provide the AI companion memory feature, we store:
- Messages you send and responses your companion generates
- Extracted conversation summaries and facts used for long-term memory
- Numerical representations of conversations used for memory retrieval (vector embeddings)
2.4 Generated Content
When you use image, video, or voice generation features, we store:
- Text prompts you provide
- References to generated media (temporary URLs that expire after a few hours)
- Generation parameters and credit costs
2.5 Usage Data
We track usage for plan enforcement and abuse prevention:
- Daily counters of actions taken (messages, images, edits, etc.)
- Credit usage per day and per month
- Server-level usage for shared credit pools
2.6 Payment Data
We do not directly store credit card numbers or bank details. Payments are handled entirely by third-party payment processors. We store only subscription status, plan tier, and transaction references necessary for billing.
2.7 Technical Data
- Log files for debugging and security (Discord IDs, error messages, timestamps)
- Log files are size-limited and automatically rotated
2.8 What We Do NOT Collect
- IP addresses
- Email addresses (unless you provide one voluntarily)
- Browser cookies or tracking pixels (DreamQuest is a Discord bot, not a website)
- Biometric data
- Government-issued ID numbers
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data for the following purposes:

We do not use your data for advertising, sell your data to third parties, or use your conversations to train AI models.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
To deliver our Service, we use third-party providers for the following purposes:
- AI inference — conversation generation and intent detection. These providers receive conversation content but do NOT receive your Discord ID, username, or other identifying information.
- Media generation — image, video, voice synthesis, and transcription. These providers receive text prompts and media files necessary for generation.
- Temporary media storage — generated images and videos are stored temporarily via cloud storage services (URLs expire within hours).
- Payment processing — subscription payments handled by external platforms. We do not process or store payment card details.
- Database hosting — your data is stored in managed database infrastructure.
- Application hosting — the bot runs on managed cloud infrastructure.
- Discord — as the platform on which the Service operates, Discord processes your user data according to its own privacy policy.
These providers process data strictly on our behalf and in accordance with data processing agreements. We do not share your data beyond what is necessary for service delivery.
5. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers may operate outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where personal data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission
- Adequacy decisions where applicable
- Necessity for contract performance (GDPR Art. 49.1.b)

Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records).
7. Your Rights Under GDPR
As an EU resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of Access (Art. 15) — request a copy of your data
- Right to Rectification (Art. 16) — correct inaccurate data (use in-app commands or contact us)
- Right to Erasure (Art. 17) — request deletion of your data
- Right to Restriction (Art. 18) — request temporary halt of processing
- Right to Data Portability (Art. 20) — receive your data in a structured format
- Right to Object (Art. 21) — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Right to Withdraw Consent (Art. 7.3) — withdraw consent at any time (e.g., NSFW features)

8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encrypted database connections (TLS)
- Parameterized database queries (SQL injection prevention)
- Signed, time-limited URLs for generated media
- Size-limited, rotated log files
- Access restricted to the service operator
No system is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Service at your own risk.
9. Children's Privacy
DreamQuest is available to users aged 13 and older, in accordance with Discord's Terms of Service.
NSFW (adult) features are strictly limited to users aged 18 and older. By enabling NSFW features, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with data, we will take steps to delete it.
10. Automated Decision-Making
DreamQuest uses automated systems for:
- Credit deduction — credits are deducted automatically when you use features
- Rate limiting — daily and monthly usage limits are enforced automatically based on your plan
- Content safety filtering — harmful content (involving minors, non-consensual acts, etc.) is automatically blocked
- Trial expiry — trial accounts are automatically converted to the free plan upon expiry
These automated processes do not involve profiling or produce legal effects. You may contest safety filter decisions by contacting us.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top
- Significant changes will be announced via our Discord channels
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree with changes, stop using the Service.
